Touring disaster sights within weeks, sometimes months after
they occur is a learning experience.  Talking with locals
 and interviewing authorities is worth the time and effort.

Police, Fire Fighters, EMS, Red Cross, HAM radio operators,
anyone who has a story to share is worth listening.

Just as disasters seem to be more catastrophic,
technology has made advances in combating tragedies.

Using volunteers and modern technologies that create
advocates for a support public safety network and
a backup support communications system.

Asheville, N.C. and Kerrville, TX come to recent memory.

First 911 Call from the River Inn Resort

River Inn is just over this hill ridge.

Blue Dot:  my location where I parked to capture
an overhead view image before the flood.
Google-dated image sometime earlier in 2025.

Note:  The dam and created lake is just behind River Inn Resort.
This flood water was 30 feet over the dam early on July 4, 2025.
The water flooded the Inn, crossed the road and flooded
homes on both sides of the road down toward Keerryille.

Hunt Texas is mostly a crossroad town with a local store no longer open.
Nearby town of Ingram Texas served the town of Hunt and river area.

Vol. Fire Department trained in fire and rescue and not river floods.

Hunt Texas crossroad store closed years ago and on the market for sale.
Hunt Vol. Fire Dept. has a sign up but no equipment on sight.
