Mount Hood and the Columbia

The snow is not down here but up there on Mount Hood.
Colombia River
Looking West toward the ocean.
Looking East.
Driving East. You can travel on the new interstate than runs down
close to the river,
or take the old route that run high above the banks to get the grand view
where I took most of the pictures.
The Hood River is a tributary of the Columbia River in Oregon.
The city of Hood River is a port on the Columbia River.
The Columbia River Gorge is canyon of the river that
stretches 80 miles as the river winds
westward along the boundary of the states of Washington and Oregon and is the
connection
between the Columbia River Plateau and the Pacific Ocean.
Lewis and Clark Expedition - seeking an all-water route to the Pacific Ocean
continued down to the Columbia River reaching the Pacific Coast a year and a
half after setting out.
