Oregon Trail - Road Trip, Biking, Hiking,
Camping
Week 2 - Friday - Grand Teton in Wyoming
Back To Main Oregon
Trail Page
These images were taken on Thursday evening after leaving Yellowstone.
The sun was just behind the Grand Teton mountains, so I had every
intention to return on Friday to get morning and day pictures.
However, rain was expected on Friday, there was no nearby campsites,
no restaurants, hotels, nothing. I drove 30 miles into Jackson, Wyoming
and discovered the town was very upscale "tourist", expensive,
campsites closed
for the winter, and unfriendly people who could care less.
So I ate an expensive meal, left town and did not stop driving until I reached
Salt Lake City, UT. Jackson wants your money and after that you are
on your own.
Grand Teton is left alone with hardly a place to pull over to take pictures.
The park is like 30-60 minute drive that most take to get to/from
Yellowstone.
It is a shame that there are no restrooms or places to eat or stay overnight
nearby.
